Phylogenetic Analysis of Molecular Data

This course will address the theory and practice of phylogenetic inference from DNA sequence data.  The course aims to give graduate students and undergraduates engaged in research the hands-on skills needed to analyze and critically interpret their data.  Given enrollment limitations in other years, we will be opening a second lab section to accommodate more students, so spread the word!  Below is more info on the course as well as a flyer. Prof. David A. Baum dbaum@wisc.edu) Credits: 3 Lectures: TR, 1:00p-2:15p Labs:  W 1:20-3:20p or T 10-12p Prerequisites: a course in genetics/evolution/systematics and a course in statistics/probability, or consent of the instructor. Comfort with computers and prior exposure to phylogenetic trees is highly recommended.
